Laughable investigation

To the editor:

I've got a question for all of the misguided morons the Republicans have sent to Washington, D.C.

My first thought involves the House "intelligence" committee. Now there's a real play on words. These idiots, along with their Chairman Devin Nunes, are opening another investigation allegedly linked to Clinton's e-mails.

Now, I don't know about you folks, but I'm up to my eyeballs with the last go around and around and around about this same subject. Oh yeah, that one went on and on for months and months, while the Congress neglected so much real work it should have been doing.

Wasn't that the investigation that had Hillary on the stand for 11 hours with nothing to show for it?

Let me ask this, what was the outcome of all that time and money? A great big nothing burger, that's about it.

Well, this time these morons are outdoing themselves. We have three House Committees - count them - and along with two separate investigations are involved.

I admit that I'm a simple man coming from good stock. So, on this subject I'll refer to a world famous thinker, Albert Einstein: Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Speaking of doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results - have you seen the "tax reform" bill the Republicans have put on the table? There is no other way to put it, you can put lipstick on a pig and it's still a pig.

Quite simply put, it's the same old trickle down economic theory they have been pedaling for years, failing miserably each and every time. The basic premise of this failed concept is to rape and plunder the middle class along with the poor, then take this "saved" money and give it to the rich.

One rather bold change the Republicans have made this time around is the fact that they are saying up front, this "tax reform" will blow up the federal deficit by a staggering one and a half trillion dollars. That's a T as in trillion. Which means you're grandchildren will be paying for this insane tax reform bill.

Their explanation of this madness is really Alice in Wonderland stuff. Just listen to them as they try to justify this back breaker of a bill.

One last thought. The hidden but very real aspect of this welfare for the rich bill is the fact that they are assuming a GDP of 3 percent to pay for this tax give away to the rich. Our economy has hit a GDP of 3 percent three times in the last 25 years.

Not really something you can count on, but they don't seem to care about the facts, just get something on the great carpetbagger's desk so he can sign something. They don't seem to care what it is, but you should care.
