East Lee County High student earns scholarship

Jacqueline Rodriguez, an 11th-grade student at East Lee County High School, has received a Florida Prepaid Scholarship through the Uncommon Friends Foundation.

The foundation awards scholarships to deserving students, veterans and adults who need financial assistance, excel in school, possess high character qualities and are pursuing degrees in education, law, technology and other studies.

Jacqueline is an Advanced Via Individual Determination or AVID student and she is currently pursuing studies in the medical academy.

All winners were honored at the foundation's Uncommon Evening held Nov. 2 in Fort Myers.
