Isn’t it time?

To the editor:

When will it arrive? I am speaking of the arrival of the obligation, within the Democratic Party, that responsible American citizens must be mindful of the consequences when they direct insults at the President of the United States.

For the Democratic Party to be the constant instigator of personal attacks upon President Donald Trump underscores their lack of honor and respect for the office that he holds.

That there is a significant rift within the Democratic Party, is a given. Such a deep divide was also with the Republican Party but the constant series of successful decision and policies from President Trump has begun to heal the old guard factions and the Trump supporters. This is a most reluctant healing but it is in motion. It is time for the Democrats to reassess their positions and to make the responsible choice that their present actions are counterproductive to the American way of conducting politics.

The American people need both Parties to be responsible. The ongoing insults to our President, in the face of the world political stage as a whole, must cease.

The problem is, there is no one at the present, within the Democratic Party that is respected enough by both factions therein, to provide the prescription for building the needed bridges.
